Coastal route: the Leça footbridge at Matosinhos is closed

If you're walking the Camino Portugués Coastal out of Porto, you normally cross the Río Leça at Matosinhos on the Ponte Móvel — the low pedestrian lifting bridge beside the marina. It's currently closed to foot traffic.

Until it reopens, follow the signed detour to the nearest road crossing of the Leça and back down to the seafront on the far side. It adds a little distance, but it keeps you on safe pavement the whole way.

The dedicated Camino Portugués guide shows the way around on the map, and you can read or leave a note right at the crossing if anything changes on the ground. The free All Caminos app has the route too.

Buen Camino — and if you walk through and find the situation has changed, send a correction from the listing so we can keep this current for the pilgrims behind you. — Michael
