Squeaky beds!
Well equipped kitchen but you need to get in early due to the huge number of pilgrims this Albergue sleeps. I had a horrible night sleep due to my bunk bed being extremely squeaky and unstable, which I’m sure was also annoying for other pilgrims during the night. I would try to get to Vila Cha or Vila do Conde instead if you can.

Wonderful Albergue
Nice facility! Washer and dryer work great! Just make sure you have lots of change. The Albergue doesn’t have any change! Good beds! The showers are just Ok! You need to press the button every 5 seconds!!

Perfect for a first night
The place is perfect for a first night on the camino. 15€, clean bathrooms, clean dorms and kitchen. The shared spaces seems recently renovated. The bunk beds are wood which makes less noise at night. Big dorms, they all connect. It was quiet at night. 100% recommend.

Very nice start
It was our first stop in our Camino from Porto. It is not possible to make a reservation, but it is on first come first served service. It was very clean, disposable bed sheets are provided. Kitchen is well equipped and also washing machine is here. Bathroom is clean. Lady at the reception is nice and friendly. Beds are comfortable, for couples, king sized beds are available.

Ripoff when full
Ripoff when full. They told me it would be no problem, they don’t run out of beds. However this happened and they cram people without one onto small fold out beds or put them in bungalows for the same price as a bunk bed. You have no outlet to use either in this situation.

Basic, good enough
I stayed here in July. They have a washing machine and a drying machine. The kitchen seems nice. There are several restaurants and bars in Labruge. A lot of people sleep in the same room (I think about 16). It was good enough

Efficient and Functional
This was the first albergue experience I had. Everything was fine. Found the mixed use of washrooms interesting, as there was no separation for female and male bathrooms. Clean, cheap and functional. They provide disposable linen and blankets on request. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Will recommend. Note of warning, don't use Google Maps as it can be a tad misleading with directions.

Clean and new
A bit of an atypical welcome both for the Camino as unlike the warm Portuguese people. The place is clean and quite new, but lacks a bit in character and vibe. Double beds for couples in the dorm rooms.

Great Albergue
Many beds very comfortable and good space, very clean, there’s one washer and drier and two hand washing tubs with lines to dry outside. Down points only there’s only two sinks means big queue in morning, two ladies were put up in an outside wooden shed, said it was very cold and noisy.

Bedbug warning
Got bedbugs when I was here. Place could definitely be cleaner !

A bit run down but ok
Positives: lots of beds, disposable sheets, free blankets. and well stocked kitchen. Wifi and enough plug points. Negatives: not the cleanest. The showers are cold if the inner door is open ( fire safety trip switch because of the wind). Kitchen is in welcome area so feels a bit awkward to cook there; and seating areas not set up.

All is ok !
I am here aS I write this. The albergue is clean and has plenty of space , and the hosts do not mind pilgrims cooking or relaxing outside The bathrooms are few but kept clean. I am comfortable here.

Rundown and unwelcome, but fine for a night
Very busy already, first week of May 2023. A run down municipal. Fine for getting a night’s sleep, but not a particularly nice place. It didn’t feel clean - but I’d say that is because it’s quite rundown. Old mattresses etc. The toilets and showers were ‘clean’ but very run down. Again - fine for a nights sleep. (The showers had good pressure and plenty of hot water.) Cat litter, cat bed and cat food by the bathrooms - again all a bit run down even compared to other municipals. I arrived late (9pm) and all bunks were taken but there were floor mattresses and some double sofa beds for two friends sharing - they were on a patio annex with full length shutters pulled down - so kind of indoors/outdoors! It was freezing! Don’t sleep directly next to the shutters if you can help it! But there were blankets - which also didn’t feel clean, but nevermind. I was warm with the blanket. Although other people were also arriving when I arrived, and people were sat up talking, those of us to arrive later were given quite a patronising telling off. The host seemed a bit annoyed by everything - warning us (very rudely) not to make noise etc. This is my third Camino and I’m in my 40s - I’ve never been told off as part of the welcome!

20/04/23
Unfortunately not the best experience, standing water in the showers with only cold water, not very clean and there were bed bugs. We got the disposable sheets for the bed, but not for pillows. Some people were sleeping directly on the mattress but on the floor. Host was very nice but the place wasn’t decent.
